Free Crochet Christmas Goodie Bags Pattern©

"Free Crochet Christmas Goodie Bags Pattern©"
By Connie Hughes Designs©

These cute little bags are so easy, very quick and fun to make...kids will
love finding these filled with their favorite goodies...I use to put little things in
my kids stockings right up to Christmas Eve...they would always run up and
check their stockings because I would randomly slip something in there...they just
never knew when Santa would stop by...I would of loved using these bags
for that...you could make a bunch of them and really make the Holiday
Season extra special...fill it with candy or a special note from the big guy...or
with a few quick changes you could make ornaments...make the bags a bit
smaller and hang them on the tree and of course who wouldn't love
to have goofy Elf legs & feet hanging around!

Difficulty Level: Easy
Stitches used: single crochet & half double crochet
This is a great scrap yarn project!

Hooks used in Pattern:
E & G

Red Heart Yarns were used in Pattern:
Red
Black
White
Glowworm

Other Materials used in Pattern:
Felt in Red, Yellow, Grey, Black
Hot Glue Gun
Tapestry Needle
Sewing Needle/Thread
Optional: White Fur for Santa Boots/if you don't have that on hand just use white felt.

To make the Bag: with Red/Glowworm Yarn & E Hook

Ch13
Row 1. 1sc in 11sts, 3sc in the last st, 1sc in 10sts, 2sc in the last.
Put stitch marker in the last stitch.
Row 2. 2sc, 1sc in 10sts, 2sc in the next 3sts, 1sc in next 11sts, 2sc in the next 1st.
Row 3. 2sc in 2, 1sc in the 12sts, 2sc in 3sts, 1sc in the next 13sts, 2sc in next st.
Row 4. 2sc in 2sts, 1sc in 15sts, 2sc in the next 3sts, 1sc in 16sts, 2sc in 1.
Row 5. 2sc in 2, 1sc in 18, 2sc in 1, 1sc in 2, 2sc in 1, 1sc in 18sts, 2sc, 1slst in the next 2sts and FO.

To make the Legs & Feet: with White Yarn & E Hook/Red Yarn & G Hook (make 2 for each bag)
Ch41,
Row 1. 1sc in 7sts, wk 3sc in each ch st across and FO.
Glue shoes to the flat side where the 7sc sts are, sew or glue the other end to the bottom of the bag.
I drew out the feet on paper and cut them out. I then folded the felt in half and laid the cutout down and pinned it in place, cutting out 2 pieces at the same time. It's just much easier to get them the same size that way. I hot glued one onto the back of the leg and then lined the other one up and glued that one on top of the other!

To make the Suspenders: with Red/White Yarn & E Hook (make 2)
Ch3
Row 1. 1sc in 2sts, ch1 & turn.
Repeat: the red suspenders should measure about 8 or 9" long/for white suspenders repeat until they measure about 13" long and FO. Sew or glue suspenders to each side of the bag.

To make the Belt for the Santa Bag: with Black Yarn & E Hook
Ch6
Row 1. wk 1hdc in 2nd st from the hook, 1hdc in 3, ch2 & turn.
Row 2. 1hdc in 4sts, ch1 & turn.
Repeat until belt reaches all the way around and FO. Sew or glue belt to the bag. With grey or yellow felt cut out belt buckles and glue to the front.

To make the Santa Belt Loops: with Red Yarn & E Hook (make 2)
Ch9
Row 1. 1hdc in 7sts and FO.
Sew the loops around the belt in the front.

To make the Pocket on the Elf Bag: with Glowworm & E Hook
Ch7
Row 1. 1sc in 6sts, ch1 & turn.
Rows 2-4. repeat row 1
Row 5. dec1sc, 1sc in 2, dec1sc, ch1.
Row 6. wk 1sc all the way around the pocket and FO.
Sew to the front of the bag.

To make the Elf Belt: with Black Yarn & E Hook
Ch3
Row 1. 1sc in 2sts, ch1 & turn.
Repeat until it reaches all the way around and FO.
Sew or glue in place.

To make the Belt Loops for the Elf Bag: with Glowworm & E Hook (make 2)
Ch6
Row 1. 1sc in 5 and FO.

Cut out the belt buckles with the felt and glue those in place.
