Paper Snow Balls©
I stand watching you from a distance hoping you won’t
find me near
The sight of you takes my breath away and fills my
eyes with tears
I would love to linger but I can’t stay long
You see my heart is broken and now it’s not so
strong
I hang on to memories of way back when
So I can remember your face and the touch of your
skin
I remember Halloween and mummy dogs
Scary ghost and silly frogs
I hope you remember paper snowballs and kisses at
the door
I remember those sweet days and so much more
Birthday cakes I made just for you, a bouncy house
a red
fire engine just to name a few
A salon day upstairs for hair and nails, quiet
times and fairy tales
Sunday morning mass where we gathered at the pew
How quickly it went even Father’s homily flew
I held you close and we swayed to the sound of your
mother’s voice
Those were days of happiness a time to rejoice
Remember the movie we made starring and directed by
you
Luke Skywalker so young and new
The other day I cleaned out a toy box that was
full
of toys you use to play
I put them aside but I couldn’t throw a thing away
I hold on to you in my heart and there you’re
seven, four and two
The most beautiful children I ever knew
I hope you remember paper snowballs and kisses at
the door
I remember
those sweet days and so much more.
