Tapestry Needle
1” Black Buttons
H, G Hooks

Abbreviations Used in Pattern
wk-work

ch-chain
sts-stitches
BLO-back loop only
hdc-half double crochet
FO-fasten off

With Bright Pink Yarn (ch 3 counts as 1st st)
Ch 3
Row 1. Wk 11hdc in the third ch from the hook, ch 2 and turn-12sts

Row 2. Wk 2hdc in each st around,ch 2 and turn-24sts

Row 3. Wk 1hdc in same st as ch 2, wk 1hdc in the next, repeat with 2hdc, and 1hdc all the way around, ch 2 and turn-36sts

Row 4. Wk 1hdc in the next 2 sts, wk 2hdc in the next, continue with 1hdc in next 2sts, 2hdc in the next st, all the way around, ch 2 and turn-48sts

Row 5. Wk 1hdc in the next 2 sts, 2hdc in the next, repeat with 1hdc in the next 3 sts, 2hdc in the next st all the way around ch 2 and turn-60sts

Rows 6-10. Wk 1hdc in each st around and FO.
If this is for an adult you might want to do 1 or 2 more rows before you FO.

With right side facing you and now working from the out side like in the photo...attach Red Heart Yarn in Buff.

Ch 2
Row 11. Wk 1hdc in the BLO all the way around, ch 2 and turn.

Rows 12-19. Wk 1hdc in each st around, FO in the last st in the ninth row. Weave in the loose ends with a tapestry needle.
To make the ringlets, use Bright Pink Yarn an H hook.
Ch 50 or 60
Wk 3sc in each ch st across and FO. Make as many as you would like. I made 12. I made some of the chains longer, so the ringlets weren’t all the same. I used a sewing needle and matching thread and sewed each ringlet in place near the center of the hat and work your way out. Or you can sew them on each side of the hat to make pig tails.

For the Bow I used Red Heart Yarn in Purple an a G hook (make two)
Ch 9
Row 1. Wk 1sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn.

Row 2. Dec 2, 1sc in 4 sts, dec 2, ch 1 and turn.

Row 3. 1sc in the next 6 sts, ch 1 and turn.
Row 4. Dec 2, 1sc in the next 2 sts, dec 2, ch 1 and turn.

Row 5. Dec 2, dec 2, ch 1 and turn.

Row 6. Wk 1sc in the next 2 sts, ch 1 and turn.
Row 7. Wk 2sc in the next 2 sts, ch 1 and turn.

Row 8. Wk 1sc in 4 sts, ch 1 and turn.

Row 9. Wk 2sc in the first st, 1sc in the next 2, 2sc in the last st, ch 1 and turn.

Row 10. Wk 1sc in each st across, ch 1 and turn.

Row 11. Wk 2sc in the first st, 1sc in the next 4 sts, 2sc in the last st and FO. Sc both pieces together and FO.

To make the center of the bow ch 4 and wk 1sc in 3 sts, ch 1 and turn. Make it just long enough to go around the center of both bows. Then sew in place and then sew to hat.
To make the cheeks, use Light Pink Yarn and a G hook
Ch 2
Row 1. Wk 6sc in the second ch on the hook-6sts

Row 2. Wk 2sc in each st around-12sts.

Row 3. Wk 1sc in the first st, 2sc in the next, all the way around-18sts.
Sew one on each side of face. With black yarn and a tapestry needle embroider a smile and two eye lashes on each eye. Sew buttons in place.

Fun Hats For Kids!!

Hello Everyone!!
We had a big Christmas gathering last year at my Mother in laws
house...so many kids, great nieces and nephews...I wanted to make
something for them...so I made each little one a hat...and
they all were so cute in them. I had the most fun making
this Lalaloopsy Hat and I was very happy that the
little girl I made it for said she loved it.
The Free Pattern for this hat is on my blog.

Reindeer Games Ring Toss Hat©

Reindeer Games Ring Toss Hat©
I just finished my Reindeer Ring Toss Hat
last night...when I was creating this hat I really wanted
something fun for kids...and this Reindeer Hat Ring Toss can be played
indoors without any worry of something getting broken.
When your all done playing you can dress it up
with a little sparkle with these mini ornaments
You can make the game a little more difficult by having the
person wearing the hat move around slightly.
I made 3 different ring sizes...the smaller the ring the more points
you get...you can throw them on the antlers, ears and nose!
Fun for a Family Christmas party!

Merry Christmas

Christmas Quick and Easy Holiday Decorating Ideas by Connie's Spot©

"Christmas Quick and Easy Holiday Decorating Ideas"
By Connie's Spot©

Here are a couple quick decorating ideas...
If your anything like me, you have all these cute kitchen accessories...
that sit more in the cabinets then anywhere else...is so then
you'll like these ideas...I have a cupcake dome and I
filled it with very simple things...these are the
glittery pine cones I made a while back...
they look so pretty in this and when the morning
sun hits them they look beautiful!
Here I added a little snow and placed my
Snowman salt & pepper shakers inside!
Very simple and pretty ideas for the kitchen!

I was at Pier 1 and they had these gorgeous
Christmas Ornaments!
They are frosted from the inside and then hand painted...
each comes with a velvety box to store them in...would make a
wonderful Christmas gift!

Exquisite Ornaments from Faith Harvest Helpers

Exquisite Ornaments from Faith Harvest Helpers

This one says Noel
This little pamphlet tells all about the person who made it!
When I was at the Holiday Craft Bazaar last weekend...
I took a stroll around to take a look at some of the other vendors to see
what they were selling...when I got to this one I was so surprised at
how these exquisite ornaments were made...and then I heard who made
them and how they're helping to feed families I just had to share their story.
The sale of Mayan Bolas supports a vital Cottage Industry and helps Faith Harvest Helpers raise funds for their domestic and global outreach & relief programs. Each bola has the interview of the creator attached to the unique, handmade, colorful, glass beaded ornament. Bolas are sold throughout the year at a variety of Northwest fairs and bazaars, are consigned to various retailers, and can be consigned to organizations for fundraising. For more information on events and consignment please contact Cynthia Rankin via email: cynthia@faithharvesthelpers.org
or by phone (360)259-5586.

The Mayan Bola Cottage Ministry helps support families in Guatemala.
These exquisite works of art are hand-made by Mayans in the Lake Atitlan region.
Families are struggling to live 5000-7000 feet high in the volcanic,
Western Guatemalan Mountains, some in homes made of corn stalks.
Life there is very desperate with few jobs.
I am not associated with this organization,
I just love how they are truly helping people.
It's great when you can help someone, but it's really
great when you can help someone in a way that allows
them to contribute to their own family and that
feeling of accomplishment.
These ornaments and the people who make
them are truly beautiful.
