Beautiful Hooded Scarf

I made this beautiful hooded
scarf for my daughter.
I made my flower changeable
by simply putting a snap piece on the
scarf and on the backs of each flower!

The pattern can be found on a blog called "Style With String"
it's creator was kind enough to share it!

If you are interested in buying a scarf like this one

Easy Crochet Christmas Tree-Pattern©

Easy Crochet Christmas Tree-Pattern©
This Christmas Tree was very easy to make...
You can use it for so many things...
You could make several of them in different
sizes to dress up a holiday buffet...
I have used mine in many different settings...
It's made with a Styrofoam cone that
I got at my local craft store.
 Free Pattern!
This is what I used:
Dark Forest Green Yarn
White Soft Shimmer
A box of floral pins
A G size crochet hook.
Make chain long enough to go around your Styrofoam cone.
You will repeat this all the way around the cone
with the green and the white sizing as
you work your way up to the top of the cone.
Sc in each ch st around, ch 1, turn,
1 sc in the first st, ch 3, wk 1sc in the first st of ch 3 , then sc 1 or 2 in the next stitch or stitches, to make it look more realistic) repeat all the way around.
Attach your piece to the cone using a floral pin.
(repeat with the green and white)
 For the top piece
ch 2 (this will count as your 1st stitch)
wk 11 hdc in the center
sl st to join
ch 3, sc into the first st of ch 3
repeat this just like you did with the green and white!
I just glued my top piece on.
You can add a topper of your choice
I chose a basic star for mine!

Poem: I Miss You©

 I Miss You©

I miss you in all of these passing days
I miss your smiles and carefree ways
I miss the hands that fit so perfectly in mine
How I wish I could stop the sands of time
But they come day after day
And a little piece of my heart is chipped away
I miss your laughter and wonder how much you’ve grown
All I have left now are pictures on the walls at home
With all my heart each night I pray
That you know my love for you has never strayed
So many tears we all have wept
So many promises we never kept
Forever is for so very long
I hope my heart is as strong
Cause three little voices still echo there
I still see little chocolate faces with tousled hair
I miss the books you wanted me to read
I miss how you would run from room to room
With such lighting speed
I miss how you would wave and blow me kisses at the door
I know now, not even death could hurt me more.

Poem: My Mothers Love©

My Mothers Love©

There is a grave on the side of a hill
It’s so quiet here even the air is still
But a warm soft rain begins to fall
Its been so long that even memories
Are hard to recall
I kneel down on the warm wet grass
Suddenly moments of my life come
Rushing at me so fast
I brush cob webs from the stone that
Bares your name
We are, you and I one in the same
Thank you for this life
Though at times it’s hard to bare
How much it would of helped
If you were there
When I lost you it was like
A long walk in a cold and dark dawn
You want to stop but you keep Moving on
I had never seen death in any bodies eyes before
How badly it hurts, right down to the core
You understand what the word final means
And all the petty worries, how silly they seem
I know you know that my heart is broken
Because between a mother and daughter
There is a language, though no words are ever spoken
Thank you for the gentle hands that cared for me
So much now I understand, with a woman’s eyes I see
You gave me life with all it’s twist and turns
You taught me lessons I’m sure you thought I’d never learn
You weren’t a perfect person and either am I
Because of your love
You make me try.

Witchy Boo! A Blast from the Past!!

Witchy Boo!
A Blast from The Past!!
I made this cute little witch years ago when my kids were younger. Made with black fabric sewn together and filled with rice and fiberfill. Her head is made with muslin, button eyes, and her hair is straw.
The little ghost and headstones are made from grocery bags. Cut your paper the shape of a headstone glue together, leave opening for fiberfill, then glue closed.  I took a little sand from my daughter's sand box mixed the paint with the sand and painted the headstones.
My husband was taking out some of our Halloween decorations and came across the Witch, cat, and headstones.  I made all these 15 years ago!!

Crocheted Halloween Ghosts

The Ghost were single crocheted in the round.
Their arms are pipe cleaners with a small crocheted piece that I sewed over the pipe cleaner then sewed them to the back of the ghost.
The Letters are wood, painted, and hot glued on tongue depressors.

The little pumpkin my 5year old daughter made..
I have put that pumpkin out every year for Halloween!
She is now Married :-)

Happy Halloween!!
