Free Ninja Turtle Inspired Crochet Hat Pattern©

This Pattern is for Child Size Hats.
Here's a free and super easy hat pattern for the kids!
Pattern is below!

How easy? I made all of them in a day...the pattern is a child size because
it's a little tricky to make the eyes without someone to try it on!
And all I had was foam head!
 Great little stocking stuffer!

Yarns Used in Pattern:
Paddy Green
Cherry Red
Royal Blue
Orange
Purple
 
I (5.5mm) Hook 
Stitch Marker
       

To make hat Paddy Green & I hook
Ch2
Row 1. Wk 9hdc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2hdc in each st around-18sts.
Row 3. 1hdc, 2hdc in the next st-27sts.
Row 4. 1hdc in 2sts, 2hdc in the next st-36sts.
Row 5. 1hdc in 3, 2hdc in the next st-45sts.
Row 6. 1hdc in 4, 2hdc in the next st-54sts.
Row 7. 1hdc in 5, 2hdc in the next st-63sts.
Row 8. 1hdc in each st around-63sts.
Rows 9-15. repeat row 8 (until the hat measures about 6inches)
Wk 1sc in 2sts in Green and attach Red, Orange, Purple or Blue yarn with a sl st and ch1.
Row 16. wk 1sc in each st around-63sts.
Use a st marker
Row 17. repeat row 16
Row 18. 1sc in 25sts, ch8, sk 7sts, 1sc in 3sts, ch8, sk 7sts, 1sc in each st around.
Row 19. 1sc in each st, including each set of ch8.
Rows 20-21. 1sc in each st around.
Row 22. 1sc in 29sts, 2sc in 2sts, 1sc in 9, 2sc in 2sts, 1sc in each st around & FO.

To make the tie piece on the side of the hat:
Ch38
1sc in the 1st st, 1hdc in 3, 1dc in 12sts, 1sc in 5, 1dc in 12, 1hdc in 3, 1sc in the last st and FO.
Tie it into a small knot and sew piece to one side of the hat.

I made this Gingerbread House a couple of years ago...so when I was
finished with these guys and just couldn't resist putting the
house in with the pictures!
I really wanted her to sit on a rolling pin on my wreath but a real one is
just a little to heavy...so I made one for her to sit on!

To make the Body of the Yellow M & M: with Yellow Yarn & F Hook
Ch2
Row 1. 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. 1sc, 2sc, around-18sts.
Row 4. 1sc in 2, 2sc in the next st-24sts.
Row 5. 1sc in 3, 2s in the next st-30sts.
Row 6. 1sc in 4, 2sc around-36sts.
Row 7. 1sc in 5, 2sc in the next st-42sts.
Row 8. 1sc in 6, 2sc around-48sts.
Row 9. 1sc in 7, 2sc around-54sts
Row 10. 1sc in each st around-54sts.
Rows 11-20. Repeat row 10
Row 21. 1sc in 7, dec1 sc around-48sts.
Row 22. 1sc in each st-48sts.
Row 23. 1sc in 6, dec1 sc around-42sts.
Rows 24-25. 1sc in each st-42sts.
Row 26. 1sc in 5, dec1 sc around-36sts
Rows 27-29. 1sc in 36sts.
Row 30. 1sc in 4, dec1 sc around-30sts.
Row 31. 1sc in each st 30sts.
Row 32. 1sc in 3, dec1 sc around-24sts.
Row 33. 1s in each st-24sts.
Row 34. 1s in 2, dec1 sc around-18sts.
Row 35. 1sc in each st-18sts.
(I found turning the piece inside out, made my decreasing sts almost invisible).
Stuff
Row 36. 1sc in 1, dec1 sc around-12sts.
Row 37. dec your sts until closed and FO.

To make the Hands: with White Yarn & D Hook (make 2)
Ch2
Row 1. 5sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-10sts.
Row 3. 1sc in 10sts.
Rows 4-6. Repeat row 3
Change to Buff Yarn
Row 7. Join with a sl st, wk 1sc in the FLO in each st-10sts.
Row 8. 1sc in each st-10sts.
Stuff hand and arms lightly as you go.
Rows 9-23. Repeat row 8 and FO.
 
To make the Fingers: with a C Hook (make 3 fingers & 1 thumb for each hand)
Ch6
Row 1. 1sc in each st-5sts.
Rows 2-3. Ch6, 1sc in each st, FO.
To make the Thumb: C Hook
Ch4, 1sc in 3sts and FO.
Use a needle and thread to shape the fingers and thumb. I kind of pinched the fingers a little bit and sewed the pinch together. Sew the fingers & thumb onto the hands.
With a D Hook Ch12, wk 1sl st in each st and sew around each wrist.

To make the Feet & Legs: with White Yarn & F Hook (make 2)
Ch2 (this white part is the sock)
Row 1. 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. 1sc in each st12-sts.
Row 4. Dec1 sc, 1sc in 3, dec1 sc, 1sc in 3, dec1 sc-9sts.
Row 5. 1sc in 9sts around.
Stuff and change to Buff yarn
Row 6. 1sc in the FLO in 9sts.
Rows 7-23. 1sc in each st, FO at the end of row 22-9sts.

To make the Shoes: F Hook
Ch2 (this is the toe of the shoe)
Row 1. 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. 1sc, 2sc, around-18sts.
Rows 4-7. 1sc in each st-18sts.
(This is the bottom and side of the shoe)
Row 8. 1sc in 5sts, ch1 & turn.
Rows 9-10. Repeat row 8 & FO at the end of row 10.
Reattach yarn with a sl st like in the photo
Row 11. Wk 1sc in the FLO in 8sts, (wk a couple sts into the toe part) ch1 & turn.Row 12. 1sc in 8sts, sl st 1 in 1 st on the side of the toe, ch1 & turn.
Row 13. Repeat row 12 and FO.
Stuff the toe and sew the leg to the inside of the shoe.
