Many of the scarves out there have those big over sized hoods...this one
doesn't and I made it that way on purpose...I find it a little hard to see
when you have one of those on!
You can always make the scarf short or longer...the hood can be made wider if
you happen to want the bigger hood...you'll love how easy the pattern is!
This is a quick project and perfect for someone heading back to school...I
made mine in a day!

Difficulty Level:
Easy

Yarn Used in Pattern:
4 Skeins Deborah Norville Serenity Active in White

Use 2 stitch markers

Abbreviations Used in Pattern:
sl-slip
ch-chain
st-stitch
sts-stitches
sc-single crochet
dc-double crochet
FLO-front loops only
BLO-back loops only
FO-fasten off

Hook size:
10mm
Scarf measures about 82 ½ inches long

To begin:
Ch151
Row 1. 1sc in each st across, ch3 & turn-150sts.
Row 2. Wk 1dc in the FLO in the 1st st, wk 1dc in the BLO in the next st, repeat all the way across, ch1 & turn-150sts.
Row 3. Repeat rows 1-2 7 more times and FO.

To make the Hood:
On each side of the scarf count up from the bottom 56sts, place stitch marker in the 56th st on each side.

Counting the 2 marked sts and the sts in between the 2 stitch markers you should have 38sts. Attach yarn with a sl st in one of the marked sts & ch3 and repeat row 2 all the way across. Then repeat row 1, repeat rows 1 & 2 until you have 12 rows for the hood.

To join the hood:
Ch1 & turn wk 1sl st (loosely) in the BLO, 1sc in the FLO all the way across and FO.

Attach yarn (like the photo above) where the scarf and hood meet with a sl st, ch1, wk 1sc all the way around the front of the hood and FO.

To make the Tassels:

It's easier to tie if you have someone hold the ends.

This completes my super easy

Free Back to School Scarves & Pencil Bag Pattern©

Free Back to School Scarves & Pencil Bag Pattern©
By Connie Hughes Designs©
Hard to believe summer is almost over...now all the stores have
the back to school supplies out and on display...I was thinking the
other day how I hated that when my kids were little...
I use to even cry because I absolutely loved
being with them...summer was always the best time...we stayed up
late and played games, ate pizza and ice cream!
But the kids are gone and now
I will miss the motorcycle rides with my husband!
These scarves are very easy to make and can be made in any length or width with some quick adjustments. These are perfect for younger children between the ages of 4 to 7.
If you want to make it for a bigger kid or teen make it longer and/or skinnier.

This is a big post with a lot of instructions & photo's. So go
all the way down to make sure you see everything!
Character Scarves Inspired by Monsters Inc. Mike & Sully
one on each pocket!

This is my Minion Inspired School Bus Pencil Bag!
You always have to have a #2 Pencil so here's

Row 16. wk 1sc in each st around, when going around the top of the head
