Christmas in Leavenworth Washington

What do you do when the kids can't come home for Christmas...that's
what my husband and I had happen to us this year...this was our
first Christmas alone...so we took advantage of the
situation...we packed our bags...and visited
one of the most beautiful places in Washington!
Leavenworth

The drive was amazing...snow suddenly
surrounded us...all you could see was
snow...for some people it's no
big deal...but I was raised in
Southern California...all we got there
for Christmas, was sun and more sun!
 So I was in heaven!
Leavenworth is a city in Chelan County, Washington.
It is part of the Wenatchee-East Wenatchee Metropolitan Area.
The entire town center is modelled on a Bavarian village.

This little town is like being in a real
Christmas Village!
The shopping is awesome and the
food is even better...
Our first dinner was at a wonderful Italian restaurant named Visconti's
The food was so good!! If you go make sure to make a reservation.

We had a wonderful
romantic dinner for two
Lemon Chicken
For dessert we had a delicious Tiramisu!
(Notice how my husband has his hand on the spoon already!)
The gazebo is the heart of Leavenworth...
They play Christmas music all day and at night
the lights come on and it is truly an unbelievable sight.

Our second day there was
gorgeous...the sun came out and it was
a picture perfect day!

You can take a carriage or
sleigh ride!
There is a Nutcracker Museum
I have never seen so many
nutcrackers in my life!

My husband looked at every
nutcracker with me and
never complained once!

This is a statue near the place we
stayed...I only came up to the knee cap!
See what I mean...this thing was massive!
Right after this picture was taken, I
fell trying to get out of all that
snow...my husband had just
turned off the camera...
Thank goodness
He also said "don't fall"!

On our first night we were walking back to
our room...and we hear this pretty music
and we looked down the road and
there was a church and they were
doing a live Nativity!

This was magical...snow was lightly
falling and we were watching
this beautiful Nativity!
On Christmas Eve we
attended the Christmas Service...
where we sang all those
wonderful Christmas Songs!
Before the Christmas Service we had
another great romantic dinner this time at
Cafe Mozart's
The food was fantastic
but again if you go make a reservation!

If you've never been it's a place you should
go...it really is special!

 I bought these in Leavenworth!
This is my one weakness...when I
found these little guys...I just had to have them!
She is one of the dolls from the
Byers Choice Collection
"The Salvation Army"
and he is the changed and happy
"Mr. Scrooge"

Happy New Year

Christmas Village Decorating by Connie's Spot©

Hooray...I got my Christmas Village done...
I love my little Christmas town...but since my table is
opened I hated putting it on display...because I absolutely hate seeing those ugly
electric cords...so if you are anything like me...then you will love this...
here is what I did...after I got them all set up...I took all the
cords together and wired them behind
the table  like so...
I used about an 18inh extension cord
and plugged them into that, I then plugged
that into a remote control outlet
(I bought mine at Lowe's) 2 yrs. ago
I got it for about $12
Then I put all the cords down inside this decorative
box...I then use a remote control to
turn them off and on...all of my
decorations are on remotes...I love it!
It really works!!!
This works up to 3 different displays...so no more
sending the smallest one under the tree to
turn off the lights...I love this thing!!
Here is my Little Town up close...
When my youngest daughter was little
she loved these little town's and we
would sit with the lights turned down...
and we would make up stories of what
the little people were doing and where
they might be going!
Memories, we remember even if
they forget!

Merry Christmas
Connie

Don't Forget The Chairs

Here are a couple of quick decorating ideas for the backs of your dining room chairs...I had some fabric left over from my daughters wedding...I tied big
red bows on the backs of the
Bride and Groom chairs...I saved the fabric and I have used
it for several craft projects...

I got the bells on the ring at Wal-Mart
super cheap...I just looped my
fabric around the ring and I used
a few pieces of painters tape
to secure it!

This is my favorite one...I bought this at the craft store
it was already put together...I just used a piece of ribbon and tied it to
my chair...this one is a little more expensive...so I just did the two
head of the table chairs.
Stockings are really cute and you can fill them
with goodies for your guest...I love dressing
up the table and it doesn't have to cost a lot!

I finally got my Nut Crackers up today, it was so
fun to look at all of them...and I just happened to glance
out the window and it was snowing...it was so
pretty, it didn't last, but sure was pretty!
My husband was so happy when he came
home today...he kept asking me when I
was going to finish decorating
I'm all most done!
