I Miss You©
I miss you in all of these passing days
I miss your smiles and carefree ways
I miss the hands that fit so perfectly in mine
How I wish I could stop the sands of time
But they come day after day
And a little piece of my heart is chipped away
I miss your laughter and wonder how much you’ve grown
All I have left now are pictures on the walls at home
With all my heart each night I pray
That you know my love for you has never strayed
So many tears we all have wept
So many promises we never kept
Forever is for so very long
I hope my heart is as strong
Cause three little voices still echo there
I still see little chocolate faces with tousled hair
I miss the books you wanted me to read
I miss how you would run from room to room
With such lighting speed
I miss how you would wave and blow me kisses at the door
I know now, not even death could hurt me more.
