Free Crochet Snowman, Mr. Grinch & Blue's Clue Hat Patterns©

I love sharing my patterns so all the instructions are below:



 
Materials Used:
2 White Buttons
4 Small Black Buttons
1 Small Flower Glued on
Tapestry Needle
Needle & Threads
Stitch Marker
Poly-Fill
 
Yarns Used:
Red
White
Black
Yellow (small amount)
Spring Green
Light Blue
Delft Blue
Royal Blue (small amount)
 
To make the basic Toddler Hat Pattern: J Hook
Ch3
Row 1. Wk 9hdc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2hdc in each st-18sts.
Row 3. 1hdc, 2hdc in the next st-27sts.
Row 4. 1hdc in 2sts, 2hdc in the next-36sts.
Row 5. 1hdc in 3sts, 2hdc in the next st-45sts.
Row 6. 1hdc in 4sts, 2hdc in the next st-54sts.
(To make the hat child size: do 1 more row after row 6, wk 1hdc in 5sts, 2hdc in the next, repeat row 7 until hat measures 7½ inches in length).
Row 7. 1hdc in each st around and FO-54sts
Repeat row 7 until the hat measures, from the top down 7inches.
To make the Ear Flaps: J Hook (make 2)




(If making a child size hat wk 1sc in 12sts for the ear flaps
and continue working it the same way).
Row 1. Wk 1sc in 10sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 2. dec1 sc, 1sc in 6, dec1 sc, ch1 & turn-8sts.
Row 3. 1sc in each st, ch1 & turn.
Row 4. dec1 sc, 1sc in 4, dec1 sc, ch1 & turn-6sts.
Row 5. 1sc in each st, ch1 & turn.
Row 6. dec1 sc, 1sc in 2, dec1 sc, dec1 sc, ch1 & turn-4sts.
Row 7. 1sc in each st, ch1 & turn.
Row 8. dec1 sc, dec1 sc, ch1 & turn-2sts.
Row 9. dec1 sc and FO.




Attach yarn with a sl st, leaving about 19 to 20sts in the front repeat rows 1-9.

To make the Blue’s Clue Hat

To make the blue dog ears: J Hook & Light Blue yarn (make 2)
Ch3
Row 1. 1sc in 2sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 2. 2sc, 2sc, ch1 & turn-4sts.
Row 3. 1sc in 4sts, ch1 & turn.
Rows 4-6. Repeat row 3
Row 7. 2sc, 1sc in 2, 2sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 8. 1sc in 6sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 9. Repeat row 8
Row 10. 2sc, 1sc in 4, 2sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 11. 1sc in 8sts, ch1 & turn.
Rows 12-17. Repeat row 11
Row 18. dec1 sc, 1sc in 4, dec1 sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 19. 1sc in 6, ch1 & turn.
Row 20. dec1 sc, 1s in 2, dec1 sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 21. dec1 sc, dec1 sc and FO.
To make the blue spots: G Hook & Delft Blue yarn (I made 9 spots)
Ch2
Row 1. 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts. (To make a small one: after row 2, ch1 & turn, wk 1sc in 6 or 7sts and FO).
Row 3. 1sc, 2sc in the next st-18sts.
Stop here for the bigger ones.
 

To make the eyes for the blue dog hat: G Hook Black & White yarn (make 2)
Ch2
Row 1. With black yarn, wk 7sc in the 2nd st from the hook and FO.
Attach white
Row 2. 2sc in each st, and FO-14sts.
 
To make the nose for the blue dog hat: G Hook Royal Blue Yarn
Ch5
1sc in 3, 3dc, 1sl st in 2, 3hdc, 1sc in 5sts, 1sl st and FO.
To make the Snowman's Hat that is on top of the white hat: with Red Yarn & F Hook
Ch2
Row 1. 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. 1sc, 2sc in next st-18sts.

Row 4. 1sc in 2, 2sc in the next st-24sts.

Row 5. 1sc in 3, 2sc in next st-30sts.


Row 6. 1sc in 4, 2sc in next st-36sts.
Row 7. 1sc in 5, 2sc in the next st-42sts.
Row 8. 1sc in the BLO in each st-42sts.
Row 9. 1sc in each st-42sts.
Rows 10-18. Repeat row 9
Row 19. 1sc in 5, dec1 sc, around-36sts.
Row 20. 1sc in 4, dec1 sc, around-30sts.
Don’t worry about the decreasing rows showing, they will be covered up with the hat band.
Row 21. 1sc in 3, dec1 sc, around-24sts.
Rows 22-23. 1sc in each st around, at the end of row 23 wk 1sl st in the last st and ch3.
Row 24. Wk 1dc in the FLO in 3sts, 2dc in the FLO in the next st, all the way around, join and ch2.
Row 25. Wk 1hdc in 2 sts, 2hdc in the next st, all the way around, wk 1hdc in the last st and FO.
Stuff the hat and sew it onto the basic hat like in the picture.

 
To make the band: with White & F Hook
Ch38
Row 1. 1sc in each st, around-37sts.
Rows 2-3. Repeat row 1 & FO.
Sew the band around the hat.
To make the nose for the White Hat: with Red & F Hook
Ch2
Row 1. 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. 1sc, 2sc in next st-18sts.
Row 4. 1sc in each st-18sts.
Row 5-7. Repeat row 1
Stuff nose and dec sts until closed and FO.
To make the long ch that the pom-poms hang on.
Attach red yarn with a sl st to the end of each ear flap.
Ch 21, wk 1sl st in each ch st and FO.
 
To make the pom-poms: lay a piece of yarn about 7or 8 inches long on a piece of card board.

Wrap white & red around the card board about 60 or 70 times. Take the piece of yarn and tie the wrapped yarn together with a knot, cut the yarn. Secure the yarn several times. Trim the yarn until it makes a little ball. Sew each pom-pom in place.
The snowman's mouth is a long chain and sewed onto the hat.
To make the Grinch's eyes: with Bright Yellow F Hook (make 2)
Ch2
Row 1. Wk 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. Ch4 1sc in 2, 3sc, 1sc in 2, 2sc in 2,1sc in 3,2sc in2, 1sc in 2, 2sc in 2, 1sl st & FO.
I made 2 pom-poms for this hat, and sewed them together.
To make the eyebrows on the Grinch Hat: with Black Yarn F Hook (make 2)
Ch17 
1st Eyebrow-1sl st, 1sc in 4, 1hdc in 6, 1dc in 5sts & FO.
 
Ch19
2nd Eyebrow-1dc in the 3rd st from the hook and in next 4sts, 1hdc in 6, 1sc in 4, 1sl st & FO.
To make the nose: with black yarn F Hook
Ch2 wk 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook & FO.

Free Crochet Little Missy Baby Pattern©

Here's my new free pattern!
Darcy's little one "Little Missy Monkey"
I will also be updating my Darcy & Devon Doll© pattern
by adding in this little Pink & Purple dress, hair bow
and her black Mary Jane's!
 
 
 
Unfortunately I've miss placed my pattern for the monkey with
the blue eyes, in the matching dress...I'm hoping it will turn up...
and if I find it I will add it to the pattern. :-(
To make the Baby Monkey's Head & Body: with Light Grey Yarn F Hook
Ch2
Row 1. wk 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. 1sc, 2sc in the next st-18sts.
Row 4. 1sc in each st-18sts.
Rows 5-7. repeat row 4
Row 8. 1sc, dec1 sc-12sts. Stuff
Row 9. dec1 sc until you have 8sts.
Row 10. 1sc in 8sts.
Row 11. wk 1sc, 2sc until you have 12sts.
Row 12. 1sc, 2sc around-18sts.
Row 13. 1sc in each st-18sts.
Rows 14-19. repeat row 13
Row 20. 1sc in 2sts, 2sc in the next st-24sts.
Row 21. 1sc in 3, 2sc in the next st-30sts.
Row 22. 1sc in 4sts, 2sc in the next st-36sts.
Row 23. 1sc in 4, dec1 sc, around-30sts.
Row 24. 1sc in 3, dec1 sc, around-24sts.
Row 25. 1sc in 2, dec1 sc, around-18sts. Stuff

I used very small buttons for the eyes

To make the Arms: D Hook (make 2)
Ch2
Row 1. wk 5sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 1sc in each st around-5sts.
Rows 3-13. repeat row 2
Row 14. dec sts until closed and FO.

To make the Legs: D Hook (make 2)
Ch2
Row 1. wk 4sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-8sts.
Row 3. 1sc in each st-8sts.
Row 4-12. repeat row 3, I stuffed the legs lightly.
Row 13. dec sts until closed and FO.

To make the Feet:C Hook (make 4)
Ch5
Row 1. 1sc in 4sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 2. dec1 sc, dec1 sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 3. dec1 sc and FO.
With 2 feet together wk 1sc around and FO.
To make the Toes: C Hook
Attach yarn at the top of foot with a sl st, ch3, wk 2dc in each st, wk 1sl st in the same st, repeat 4x.

To make the Muzzle: D Hook
Ch4
wk 1sc in 2, wk 3sc in the next, repeat, sew onto the face.

To make the Ears: C Hook (make 2)
Ch2
wk 6sc in the 2nd st from  the hook and FO.
Sew one on each side to the head.

To make the Bonnet: with Pretty in Pink Yarn F Hook
Ch20
Row 1. wk 1sc in each st across, ch1 & turn.
Rows 2-7. repeat row 1, in the last row ch3 & turn, wk 3dc in the FLO in each st across & FO. Fold in half and sew the side without the ruffle. Attach yarn to each end and make a ch long enough to go around and tie a little bow.

To make the Diaper: with White Yarn F Hook
Ch23
Row 1. 1sc in each st, ch1 & turn.
Rows 2-5. repeat row 1 & FO.
Fold the diaper in half and wk 1sc in 4sts, ch1 & turn.
Repeat until the ch4 part reaches up to the top of the diaper, sew in place.

To make the Baby Blanket: with Pretty in Pink/Amethyst Yarn J HookCh42, with Amethyst    (do 2 rows with Amethyst/ 1 row with Pink)
Sk 3sts, wk 1dc in the next st and in each st across, ch3 & turn-38sts.
After the 2nd row, change to pink, repeating and changing colors.

To make the shell trim: with Pretty in Pink J Hook
Attach yarn in any st (I always do a st near a corner)
wk 1sl st in the first st, sk 1st, wk 5hdc in the next st, sl st in the next st, repeat all the way around and FO.
This pic reminds me of two cute little girls!

Use and F Hook except when instructed
To make the head & body:
With Light Blue Yarn or Bright Yellow/Tan
Ch2
Row 1. wk 6sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-12sts.
Row 3. 1sc, 2sc in the next st-18sts.
Row 4. 1sc in 2sts, 2sc in the next-24sts.
Row 5. 1sc in 3, 2sc in the next st-30sts.
Row 6. 1sc in 4, 2sc in the next st-36sts.
Row 7. 1sc in 5, 2sc in the next st-42sts.
Row 8. 1sc in each st-42sts.
Rows 9-10. 1sc in each st.
Change to Tan yarn
Row 11. 1sc in the FLO in each st.
Rows 12-19. 1sc in each st.
Row 20. 1sc, dec1sc all the way around-28sts.
Row 21. 1sc, dec1sc-19sts.
Row 22. dec1 9x, 1sc-10sts.
Begin to stuff head
Rows 23-24. 1sc in each st-10sts.
Row 25. 1sc, 2sc in the next st-15sts.
If your making the blonde doll her body is all in white.
If making the sailor out-fit change to Cherry Red & White. 
Row 26. 1sc in 2sts, 2sc in the next-22sts.
Row 27. 1sc in each st-22sts.
Rows 28-30. 1sc in each st-22sts. (Changing to red & White)
Row 31.  1sc in 3, 2sc, around, 1sc in the last 2sts-27sts.
(It's easy to lose a st when changing colors, so if it happens don't worry about it).
Row 32. 1sc in each st-27sts.
Row 33. 1sc, 2sc in the next st-37sts.
Row 34. 1sc in each st-37sts.
If making the red & white one, change to white and leave it from here on out.
Rows 35-37. 1sc in each st.
Stuff the body
Row 38. 1sc in 3, dec1 all the way around, 1sc in the last st.
Row 39. 1sc in 2, dec1 all the way around, 1sc in the last st.
Row 40. 1sc in 1, dec1 all the way around.
Row 41. dec your sts all the way around and FO.



To make the Blonde Hair: with Bright Yellow and D Hook (make 2 for each side  head).


Ch21, wk 1sl st in each st, repeat this 7x and then FO. (You'll have 8 strands on each side of head).
With needle and thread sew them to the top of the head, make them look kind of like pony tails.

She has a chunky braid on each side of her head.
To make the Blue Hair: with Light Blue and H Hook (make 4)
 
Ch19, 1sc in each st, do not FO, repeat 2 more times, sl st all 3 together and then FO.
Braid each one (I folded the top part so it would look more like the real doll). Secure with a needle and thread. 
To make the white skirt with red trim:
Attach White Yarn to the 6th row.
Row 1. 1sc, 2sc in the next st, join & ch2.
Row 2. 1hdc, 2hdc in the next, FO.
Change to Red Yarn
Row 3. wk 1sc in each st around and FO.
Attach white yarn in the 3rd row under the 1st ruffle, ch2.
Row 4. 1hdc, 2hdc in the next st, join and ch2.
Row 5. wk 2hdc, 3hdc in the next st, FO.
Attach Red Yarn
Row 6. 1sc in each st around and FO.
Attach White Yarn in the 3rd row under the ruffle, ch2.
Row 7. 2hdc, 3hdc in the next st join & ch2.
Row 8. 1hdc, 2hdc, join & ch2.
Row 9. 1hdc in each st around & FO.
Attach Red Yarn
Row 10. 1sc in each st around.

To make the collar for the Blonde Doll: with White Yarn
Ch18, 1sc in 17sts and FO.
Sew around the neck.

To make the blue skirt: with Royal Blue Yarn
Attach yarn to the last row of red
Ch2
Row 1. wk 1sc all the way around the body, keep that row straight, join ch2.
Row 2. wk 3dc in each st around, join & ch2.
Row 3. 1dc in each st around, join & ch2.
Row 4. repeat row 3
Row 5. wk 1sc in  the BLO in each st around and FO.
With a D hook change to white


Row 6. Now wk 1sl st in the FLO of the unworked sts all the way around and FO.
Row 7. I added 1 more row of sc in blue with and F hook and FO.
To make the red bow: with Cherry Red and a D Hook
Ch7
Row 1. 1sc in 6sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 2. dec1, 1sc in 2, dec1, ch1 & turn.
Row 3. 1sc in 4sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 4. dec1 2x, ch1 & turn.
Row 5. 2sc, 2sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 6. 1sc in 4, ch1 & turn.
Row 7. 2s, 1s in 2, 2sc, ch1 & turn.
Row 8. 1sc in 4sts, ch1, wk 1sc around the bow.
To make the center of the bow:
Ch6
Row 1. wk 1sc in each st, ch1 & turn.
Row 2. repeat and sew the center around the bow and FO,

To make the sleeves: with Royal Blue (make 2)
Ch2
Row 1. wk 5sc in the 2nd st from the hook
Row 2. 2sc in each st-10sts.
Rows 3-4. 1sc in 10sts.
Row 5.wk 3sc in each st and FO.
Place the arms inside the sleeve and sew in place.

To make the feet & legs: Red for the boots, Light Blue for the tennis shoes/tan for the legs (make 2).
Ch2
Row 1. 5sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st-10sts.
Rows 3-4. 1sc in each st.
Rows 5-6. 1sc in 4sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 7. 1sc in FLO of 4sts,  1sc, 1sc in the FLO of 6sts, 1sc.
Row 8. 1sc in each st, until it's the height you want. If your making the tennis shoe change to white to make the shocks. To make the white bottom of the shoe repeat rows 1-4 then wk 1sc in 4sts (this makes the toe) ch1 & turn repeat until it's the length of the shoe. Sew bottom of the shoe to foot.
Change to tan and make the legs by working 1sc in each st around until the leg is about 6 or 7inches.
On the sailor out-fit she has white bloomer's under her dress. As you work your way up the leg on this doll, change to white yarn for the last 4 rows. I made them like this because the yarn is thick and it made the legs to far apart. This way you just fold the ruffle over and it looks like bloomer's. Secure with needle & thread.
Ch2 and wk 3dc FLO all the way around. Ch2 and wk 1hdc in each st and FO.

To make the arms: with Tan Yarn (make 2)
Ch2
Row 1. wk 3sc in the 2nd st from the hook.
Row 2. 2sc in each st around-6sts.
Repeat until arms measure 4 to 4 1/2 inches, dec1 until closed.
Sew in place.
To make the Handbags: with Red, Royal Blue
 
 
Ch9
Row 1. 1sc in 7, 3sc in the last st, working on the other side 1sc in 6, 2sc in the last st.
Row 2. 1sc in 8, 2sc in 2sts, 1sc in 8, 2sc in 2.
Row 3. 1sc in 8, 2sc in 2, 1sc in 8.
Row 4. 2sc in 2, 1sc in 8, 2sc in 2, 1sc in 10.
Row 5. 1sc in each st around.
Rows 6-13. repeat row 5, wk 1sc until you get to one of the corners and FO.
For the red handle ch19, wk 1sc in each st and FO. Sew onto each side of bag.
To make the Red closure strap:
Attach red yarn to the back of bag with a sl st, leave 4sts on each side of bag, attach yarn and wk 1sc in 6sts, ch1 & turn. Repeat until the strap reaches over the front of the bag. Make the button whole, I chained  4 or 5 and worked 1sl st to the other side of strap and FO. Sew a button on in center of bag and button it closed.
To make the White closure trap:
Ch11
Row 1. 1sc in 9sts, 3sc in the last st, working on the other side wk 1sc in 9sts and FO. Leave 3sts in the front of bag unworked. Attach Red yarn and wk  1backwards sc all the way around, stopping when you reach the 3 unworked sts and FO. Sew the strap closure to the back of the bag. Hot glue or sew a button on. With Red and Blue yarn make a ch long enough to go from one of the bag to the other, sew in place.  

To make the pink cheeks, I used a thimble, it's the perfect size. I hot glued them in place. Make a smile and sew on 2 black buttons for eyes. Don't forget the eyelashes...I forgot to put them on my blue girl.
