9sts, 2sc, 1sc in 2sts, 2sc, 1sc in the next 2sts, 2sc, 1sc in the next 2,
2 in 2sts, Do not FO.

This is the bottom of the bag, you want the oval to lay flat. But don’t worry
if it curls a little. Now to make the sides of the bag.
Row 9. 1sc in each st around.
Rows 10-26. 1sc in each st around in the last row FO and weave in the end with a tapestry needle.

Front Flap with spring green

The flap is about 31/2 inches wide so mark off 11sts just make sure that the flap is the center. I measured mine but it didn’t look even so I just eyeballed it. Attach yarn to back side of purse in the st where marker is and ch1, put first sc in that st and in next 10sts, ch1 and turn.
Rows 2-17. 1sc in each st, ch 1 and turn.
Row 18. dec2sc sts, 1sc in the next 7sts, dec the last 2sts, ch1 turn.
Row 19. dec2sc, 1sc in 5sts, dec2sc and FO.
Attach Spring Green yarn to the outside of bag like in the picture, wk 1sc all the way around flap and the entire purse. Join to the first sc with a sl st.
do not FO.
To make the leaves around the bag
Ch 6
1sl st in the first ch st, 1sc in the next, 1hdc, 1dc, 1tr, sk 3sts and wk
1sl st in the fourth st, 1sc in the next 2sts.
Repeat all the way around, join with a sl st, if you get to the end and you have an extra st just sc & FO. With matching thread tack down the leaves if you want to.
The Shoulder Strap with spring green
Ch6
Row 1. 1sc in the 5sts, ch1 and turn.
Repeat row 1 until your bag measures the desired length, mine measured about 23 inches long.
Now to sew the straps to the sides of the purse. I put tissue paper inside the bag, it helped hold the bag up. Pin the sides (like in the picture) make sure both sides are even. Once pinned hold up the bag to see how it hangs.
Sew with matching thread on both sides.
Sew the beads in place (I used 5mm & 7mm beads) with red thread.
For closure, I used snaps on mine but the snaps can be hard for
a smaller hand to use. So you can use Velcro just sew the Velcro on with a matching thread.
To make the Strawberry on the flap
To make the bottom of Purse with red yarn & G Hook
Ch3
Row 1. 1sc in each st, ch1 and turn
Row 2. 2sc in each st, ch1 and turn
Row 3. 1sc in 4sts, ch1 and turn
Row 4. 1sc in next 2sts, 2sc in the next, 1sc in the last st, ch1 & turn.
Row 5.1sc in next 5sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 6. 1sc in next 2sts, 2sc in the next st, 1sc in last 2sts, ch1 & turn.
Row 7. 1sc in each st across & FO.
To make the Leaves attach Spring Green for the Strawberry to the back side of your piece. Wk 1sc in that st and in each st across, turn ch4 wk 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, sk the next 2 sts and wk 1sl st,
ch4, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, sk next 2sts, sl st in the last st & FO.
With a tapestry needle and yellow yarn make the spots on the strawberry
by going in and out a few times. FO and sew to the front of the flap.
This completes the instructions for the Strawberry purse.
I have made a few other purses with interchangeable snap-on’s and because they are interchangeable I reinforced the snaps with a small disc to help with the taking on and off.
To make the disc
Ch2
Row 1.6sc in the second ch from the hook
Row 2. Wk 2sc in each st around, if the piece is bigger and calls for a bigger disc then do rows 3, 4.
Row 3. Wk 1sc in the first st, 2sc in the next, repeat all the way around (18sts)
Row 4. Wk 1sc in the next 2sts, wk 2sc in the next st, all the way around (24sts)

For the Snow Man white yarn and G hook
For the bottom half with white yarn
Repeat rows 1-4 of the disc pattern.
Sew on the embellishments, I used small black buttons and sewed them on and then sewed the disc and the white part of the snow man together.

For the back of the snow man I used 2 disc, 18sts on the head and 24sts for the bottom and then sewed the snap in between.

Make sure your snaps fit into each piece before sewing.

Ch2
Row 1. wk 1sc in the second ch from hook.
Row 2. Wk 2sc in each st around.
Row 3. Wk 1sc in the next st, 2sc in the next sc, repeat all the way around.
Row 4. 1sc in the next 2sts, 2sc in the next st, repeat all the way around
Row 5. 1 c in the sts, 2sc in the next st, repeat all the way around.

To make the stem with tan yarn
Ch4 sl st in each st &  FO.

To make the small leaf use green yarn
Ch3, 1sc, 1hdc and FO and sew to front of pumpkin. With black felt cut out eyes, nose and a mouth and sew or glue them in place. Make the disc the same size as the pumpkin and sew the snap in place.

For the Stars Make 3 with red, white and blue yarn
Repeat rows 1-3 of the disc pattern in the last st add a sl st and
ch5, 1sl st, 1sc, 1hdc, 1dc, sk 2sts and sl st, wk 1sc in the next st and ch5 and repeat all the way around until you have 5 points. On your last point sl st and FO.

To make the Cherries with red yarn make 2
Ch2
Row 1. 6sc in the second ch from the hook
Row 2. 2sc in each st around
Rows 3-5. Wk 1sc in each st around
Row 6. Stuff lightly and dec your sts until closed FO.
Sew the two cherries together and sew the disc with the snap already in place to the back.
With brown yarn make 2 stems use a smaller hook like an F or E
Ch5, wk 1sc in each st and FO, secure the stems to the cherries with matching thread.
 With green make 2 leaves
Ch4, 1sl st, 1sc, 1hdc, ch4 again and repeat the same sts, FO and sew them on top of the stems.
For the rose I just used a basic rose and leaf pattern and sewed them in place.
I made 2 hearts 1 smaller then the other and sewed them together and put a disc with a snap on the back.

For the pink button I made a disc the size of my button and I sewed it to the disc. Placing a snap on first.

weather has cleared we will be traveling very
soon to see her...she is one of the prettiest baby's I've ever seen.
Well back to business

Well this one's for the boys!

 Viking Helmet Hat with Horns

Princess Froggie Security Blanket©

I just finished this little
"Princess Froggie Security Blanket"©
I had a little left over baby yarn...that I bought
back before we knew we were going to have a grand daughter...
it's very pretty yarn so I thought I would make something
to take with me when we go and visit...when ever she
decides to make her appearance...I've been sick with the
flu and this was the perfect project to work on
so I made this blanket
and some matching baby bath cloths!
These little baby bath cloths are so soft and pretty
when tied up with a little piece of ribbon!
A little princess for our little princess!
The little Frog is Mint Green and she is 4" tall.

The Blanket is 18"x18"
Who could resist this little face!
