Don't Forget The Chairs

Here are a couple of quick decorating ideas for the backs of your dining room chairs...I had some fabric left over from my daughters wedding...I tied big
red bows on the backs of the
Bride and Groom chairs...I saved the fabric and I have used
it for several craft projects...

I got the bells on the ring at Wal-Mart
super cheap...I just looped my
fabric around the ring and I used
a few pieces of painters tape
to secure it!

This is my favorite one...I bought this at the craft store
it was already put together...I just used a piece of ribbon and tied it to
my chair...this one is a little more expensive...so I just did the two
head of the table chairs.
Stockings are really cute and you can fill them
with goodies for your guest...I love dressing
up the table and it doesn't have to cost a lot!

I finally got my Nut Crackers up today, it was so
fun to look at all of them...and I just happened to glance
out the window and it was snowing...it was so
pretty, it didn't last, but sure was pretty!
My husband was so happy when he came
home today...he kept asking me when I
was going to finish decorating
I'm all most done!

Christmas Advent Wreath Doily

"Christmas Advent Wreath Doily"

My wreath was just one of those really plain one's...
I had a really pretty Christmas card of Mary and Baby Jesus,
so I put it in this gold colored frame...
I hot glued some artificial greenery, some red holly berries,
and a few small pine cones I had from some old potpourri...
It just needed something else...so I made this doily...
I used Paton's Silk Bamboo in Orchid...It's really pretty stuff...
My Christmas card had like a lace border so
I put a piece of purple paper behind the card so now that pretty purple peaks out.

This was truly simple and very inexpensive to make!
It really is nice to see the image while lighting
the candles and reading the prayers!

Fun with clay

Last year I played around with clay for the first time and I made a few tree ornaments, I had a lot of fun making them...it's fun to try new things...
you never know what talents lurk inside, until you
give it a try...oh gosh I sound like my mother...

My mother was always trying new things...I didn't appreciate or cherish
that when I was a kid...that was just mom...once she
ordered wall paper and the pears weren't the color she thought
they would be...did she take it back NO...she grabbed a paint brush
and any kid that was in arms reach...and we painted her
pears...but we had a good time she made it fun...she turned
up the radio and we painted green pears yellow! I miss
my mother, so if you're lucky enough to still have
your mother in your life...tell her you love her.
I wish I could!
Sorry I didn't mean to get all mushy!
Well here's my clay ornaments, I know
I have plenty of room for improvement!

This is a little Teddy in a wagon
Sleeping Santa
Cute little Cindy Lou Who
and you know who he is
Mr. and Mrs. Claus by the fire
even marshmallows in the hot cocoa
 my little whimsical stockings hung
by the fire

The 12 Days of Christmas

                                        "The 12 Days of Christmas”
There is one Christmas Carol that has baffled people and that Carol is
"The 12 Days of Christmas”
From 1558 until 1829, Roman Catholics in England were not permitted to practice their faith openly. Someone during that era wrote this Carol as a catechism song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Each element in the song has a code word for a religious reality which the children could remember.

The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ
Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments
Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love
The four calling birds were the four gospels of
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
The five golden rings recalled the Torah of Law, the first five books of the old Testament
The six geese a-laying stood for the six days of creation
Seven swans a-swimming represented the sevenfold gifts of the Holy Spirit
Prophesy, Serving, Teaching, Exhortation, Contribution,
Leadership, and Mercy
The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes
Nine Ladies dancing were the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit
Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self Control
The Ten Lords a-leaping were the ten Commandments
The eleven Pipers piping stood for the (eleven faithful) disciples
The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief
Contained in the Apostles’ Creed.

Santa's Wash Day Wreath

I had a small wreath that I wasn't using...so I made
one for my laundry room door!
I crocheted small elf size sweaters a
Santa Jacket and Pants!
I wrote out MERRY with yarn and printed out Christmas
on my computer...I just couldn't make
9 more little sweaters!
The crocheted wash bucket was super easy to make
I used cotton balls for the soap!
