Dress Up Your Staircase For Christmas!

This is a great way to spruce up those dull stairs...super cheap too!
I used leftover wrapping paper and ribbons from last year!
I made it look like a Santa assembly line, presents
on there way to Santa's sleigh!
I used 3 different wrapping papers
but all were in the same color scheme!

The bows on the boxes were really easy to make!
I am in no way a master bow maker...
here's how I made mine!

I used wire ribbon and wrapped it around my box like normal

Then I cut a second piece of ribbon and ran it
under my first ribbon
Cut a third piece and repeat
Repeat it again, you can do this as
many times as you want

Tie each piece, fluff and "walla" you have
a very pretty and easy to make bow!
I love beautiful presents and I think they
look so pretty...I use them where ever I can!

Happy Wrapping & Happy Holidays!

"These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things"

I kept hearing that Christmas Song that Julie Andrews always sang
"These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things"
So I thought I would show some of my favorite ornaments...
every year I buy a few new one's, I always seem to find one
that somehow touches me or reminds me of my kids or my childhood!
I have a little tree that I put in my dining room every
Christmas...and I love to find unusual ornaments...and
this year I found this Gumball Machine and Donut
I just love them!

I found this Frosty Ornament in a wonderful store in
Gig Harbor, Washington
It has everything under the sun that has anything to do
with Christmas...if you live near by and have never been
and you love Christmas as much as I do...then
you must go...you won't be disappointed
the store is called
The Beach Basket and believe me it is awesome!
I know the name is odd for a Christmas Shop!
here's a link to there site.
I have always had a thing for
Ice Skates...I just love them
my husband says it's
because I grew up in
Southern California...he's probably right!
When I was a kid Space toys were all the
rage...my parents bought them for me and my
sister...so when I saw these it just took
me back...
These are adorable
And of course who doesn't dream of Christmas in a
log cabin up on a snowy mountain!
This ornament is special...it's
Handcrafted by Christopher Radko
and no two ornaments are exactly alike, and
each one takes 7 days to complete...
from the glassblowing to the hand painting
they then place a signature golden ornament charm
on each one...this ornament is called the
Cozy Christmas Cottage
These are made in Poland!

The Nativity
this ornament is so pretty, all encased in a dome!
The kids will love this one!

This ornament was given to me by my
Grandmother...she gave me and my 3 sisters
ornaments one year...it really means a lot
to me and I know it means a lot to my
sisters...it always has a special
spot on the tree and I pray every
Christmas that it won't get broken!
It's survived two kids and a
crazy Dalmatian!
It's a painting on silk
and it's getting up there in years!
 Have A Wonderful Christmas

Kids Christmas Table Decorating by Connie's Spot©

Christmas Table for the kids...I love making and decorating
for kids...so don't forget the kids table when the
Holidays roll around...I had a lot of fun
dressing this little table up!
You might recognize the Mickey Mouse chair covers from my
Fun Birthday Party Post. Well I made those for Christmas last year.
At Target I found some really cute Mickey Mouse plates so
I thought it would be really cute to cover the not
so pretty folding chairs with Mickey ears!

Christmas fun with Clay!
I had never worked with clay before but I decided to give it a try...
I made these place card holders for the kids table and since the kids couldn't quite
read yet, I put their picture in them instead...
kids really like looking at pictures of themselves!
I made them with characters from
some their favorite cartoon shows!
These were not hard to make...
I got some pretty red wire at the craft store pushed it into the
raw clay before I baked it...I baked mine in my oven...
Just make sure to clean your oven with a baking soda wash
before baking food in it...I bought a small clay
oven at the craft store, so now I don't have to worry about it!
I made a few extras and scattered pictures of the
kids on the table...Well I hope you have a
Merry Merry Christmas and have fun decorating!
I looked and looked for some napkin rings for kids...
I couldn't find any so I got out my clay again and made my own...
These were super easy to make!

I really wanted Snowman Plates but not one in the store...
I was just at Target the other day what do I see...Snowman Plates!
Check back soon I will have a posting for some Special Christmas Decorations.

Beautiful Hooded Scarf

I made this beautiful hooded
scarf for my daughter.
I made my flower changeable
by simply putting a snap piece on the
scarf and on the backs of each flower!

The pattern can be found on a blog called "Style With String"
it's creator was kind enough to share it!

If you are interested in buying a scarf like this one
They are Now Available at My Shop on Etsy.com

Easy Crochet Christmas Tree-Pattern©

Easy Crochet Christmas Tree-Pattern©
This Christmas Tree was very easy to make...
You can use it for so many things...
You could make several of them in different
sizes to dress up a holiday buffet...
I have used mine in many different settings...
It's made with a Styrofoam cone that
I got at my local craft store.
 Free Pattern!
This is what I used:
Dark Forest Green Yarn
White Soft Shimmer
A box of floral pins
A G size crochet hook.
Make chain long enough to go around your Styrofoam cone.
You will repeat this all the way around the cone
with the green and the white sizing as
you work your way up to the top of the cone.
Sc in each ch st around, ch 1, turn,
1 sc in the first st, ch 3, wk 1sc in the first st of ch 3 , then sc 1 or 2 in the next stitch or stitches, to make it look more realistic) repeat all the way around.
Attach your piece to the cone using a floral pin.
(repeat with the green and white)
 For the top piece
ch 2 (this will count as your 1st stitch)
wk 11 hdc in the center
sl st to join
ch 3, sc into the first st of ch 3
repeat this just like you did with the green and white!
I just glued my top piece on.
You can add a topper of your choice
I chose a basic star for mine!

If you have any questions or comments just email me
or leave a message in the comments.

Happy Crocheting!
