A Poem Christmas© By Connie Hughes

“Christmas”

Do you hear the sounds of Christmas
Not the familiar sounds we all have come to know
Like the sounds of sleigh bells ringing in the snow
Or those familiar tunes we all so effortlessly hum
But the one’s that made angels and shepherds come
On that starry, starry night
The faint sounds of a miracle echoed across the land
Born was a Savior, a king of kings was at hand
It could be heard far and wide, the soft sounds of a baby’s cry
A carpenter kneeled and helped birth her son
Born, not just a baby but a mission had begun
Of hope, love and faith
All because of the sacrifice Mary’s little baby would come to make
This Baby would bare the sins of man
He would go the way of the Lamb
They would pierce His heart to make Him bleed
And at the end of life He will become all we need
They say that night the star of Bethlehem shined so bright
And even animals talked that night
Christmas is the lump in your throat that moves you to tears
Christmas never tires even through the years
Christmas isn’t about Santa Claus, presents or even a tree
It’s about remembering the Gift our Savior gave to you and me, life!
Merry Christmas isn’t just pretty words to say on Christmas Eve
They are the words that say to the world that I believe.
So Merry Christmas Everyone!
